Kate Gouin

Acting Director, NYC Mayor's Office of Sustainability

Kate Gouin is the Acting Director for the NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, leading a team of policy advisors, city planners, engineers, and social scientists towards a just transition to a carbon neutral city. Under Kate’s leadership, the Office aims to develop and implement equitable and inclusive policies and programs that enhance the near-term and long-term sustainability of New York City and its residents.

Kate is also gastronome, holding a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from New York University and a Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy with a Certificate in theCulinary Arts from Boston University. Her passion for food, much like her work in the Office of Sustainability, lies in all it can do to connect, nurture, and sustain a community.
