A faith-based senior care institution in East New York, Brooklyn, serving a 120-bed residential community within a 57,000-square foot facility, completed a $5.0 million C-PACE financing with PACE Equity in November 2023. The transaction supported a broad set of energy and infrastructure upgrades, including combined heat and power (cogeneration), lighting improvements, and critical life-safety enhancements, modernizing an expanded dialysis center that provides round-the-clock care and essential health services to a vulnerable population.

Structured over a 19-year term, the financing enabled the institution to significantly improve building performance while advancing compliance with Local Law 97 emissions requirements. The upgrades are projected to generate substantial and growing cost savings over time, starting at $200,000+ annually, also avoiding future carbon penalties. By leveraging C-PACE, the organization was able to invest in critical systems that support both operational resilience and its long-standing mission of delivering compassionate, community-based care, demonstrating how this financing tool can be effectively applied to mission-driven and healthcare-oriented facilities.

C-PACE Financing is the mechanism with which projects can obtain long-term debt for energy efficiency upgrades, renewable energy systems, and other building improvements through an assessment on the property tax bill.
