Copy Editing Services

The New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation (NYCEEC) would like to request a proposal from you to provide Copy Editor services pursuant to the following:

NYCEEC is an independent,  501(c)(3) not-for-profit finance company headquartered in New York City. Additional information about NYCEEC can be found by visiting: https://nyceec.com.

NYCEEC would like to request from you a brief proposal describing how you might be able to support our efforts, who you may staff on assignment, and what your fees would be (including any discounts that you may offer to 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations).

At a high level, our anticipated needs include:

  • Review and edit a variety of marketing materials (case studies, one-pagers, press releases), website content (blog posts, CEO statements, page copy), and other content as needed.
  • Review and edit a variety of other documents, such as grant proposals, narrative reports, and programmatic materials.
  • Ensure adherence to our organizational style guide, branding, tone, and language.

Submission of Proposals

All Proposals are to be submitted in accordance with the following procedure:

  • The Proposal should not exceed 3 pages, not including appendices or supporting exhibits.
  • The Proposal must be received by email to [email protected] with the email subject line “Copy Editor Services RFP Proposal”, in PDF format by 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time on May 2, 2025.
  • The Proposal must be signed by an officer, partner, or other principal of the Respondent, and must contain the name, title, address, telephone number, and email address of an individual with authority to contractually bind the Respondent, and who may be contacted during the period of Proposal evaluation.

Proposals that are not properly labeled and/or are received after the above indicated date and hour and/or are received in incorrect file type or document format, may, in NYCEEC’s sole discretion, not be considered.

The Proposal should include the following information:

  • The full name, main office address, and main telephone number of the respondent.
  • A brief description of the Respondent company, including year established and number of years of experience providing services that are the same or similar to the Services being procured in this RFP.
  • Overview of Services the Respondent proposes to provide.
  • A description of the staffing plan for the proposed services and the names of the employees who are likely to perform some or all of these Services.
  • A description of any relevant licenses or certifications, classifications such as MWBE or SMBE, and any sub-contractors or other vendors the Respondent may use.
  • A descriptions of any limitations, if any, the Respondent may have related to these Services and timeframe.
  • Proposed fees or compensation structure. Please include any potential instances in which additional costs may be incurred.

Selection Criteria

NYCEEC will employ the following criteria to evaluate the Proposals received. The order of appearance of the following is not to be construed to confer any priority on any particular criterion.

  • Respondent’s demonstrated competence and capacity to perform the proposed services;
  • Respondent’s qualifications, relevant knowledge and experience;
  • Respondent’s industry reputation;
  • Respondent’s availability to be responsive and perform the Services within required timeframes;
  • Reasonableness of cost or pricing model proposed by Respondent and extent to which Respondent is willing to offer a “nonprofit” discount; and
  • Respondent’s integrity, public policy compliance, past performance record, and Respondent’s financial and technical resources.
